
On January 16, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, met with Hungarian Ambassador to China Máté Pesti and his delegation in Chengdu. He extended a warm welcome to their visit to Sichuan for inspection.
During the meeting, Wang Xiaohui briefly introduced the basic situation of Sichuan and the overall plan and main goals of its future development. He said that in recent years, leaders of China and Hungary have joined hands to push China-Hungary comprehensive strategic partnership to a new high. Sichuan has conducted close exchanges and cooperation with Hungary, one of its major partners in Central and Eastern Europe, in the fields of economy, trade and investment, connectivity and sister city exchanges. At the 20th CPC National Congress, we made strategic arrangements for comprehensively building a modern socialist country and comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese modernization. At the Second Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, we thoroughly put into practice the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, made a comprehensive plan for leading Sichuan's modernization with Chinese modernization, and drew a grand blueprint for Sichuan's future development, especially for the next five years. Sichuan and Hungary enjoy a sound foundation and broad space for cooperation. Wang expressed his hope that under the support of the ambassador, the two sides will deepen local government exchanges, carry out more mutual visits and exchanges, and further cooperate in the fields of economy, trade, investment, technological innovation, culture and tourism, so as to bring more benefits to the people of the two places.
Máté Pesti praised Sichuan's achievements in economic and social development. He said that Sichuan has made impressive achievements. In particular, the modernization drive in Sichuan will bring new opportunities for cooperation between the two sides. He hopes that the two sides will further intensify friendly exchanges, carry out pragmatic cooperation in wider areas, and deliver more fruitful results.
Li Yunze, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Gergely Kádár, Consul General of Hungary in Chongqing, relevant officials from the Hungarian Embassy in China, and heads of relevant departments directly under the provincial government attended the meeting.
